Well, so far we're getting nowhere on this case. And I mean NOWHERE!!!!! All my leads have proven to be nothing but dead ends. It's almost like whoever is beyond all this doesn't want anyone to know anything. Actually that is how it is.
Something about this is too....abnormal. Almost inhuman. What kind of being could do any of this?! Hopefully my newly expanded team will be able to figure it all out.

Yes, newly expanded. Not only does it appear that I will be working with the police on this case, but it also seems that I have a new addition to my own team as well.
THe Kalkyou Underground Science Division recently assigned a new member to my team. A "Mr. Trunks Briefs". Unfortunately I do not know much about him. However I must make an introduction I suppose. According to the information I've been given, he is very experienced and successful research assistant. I suppose I'll just have to accept this transfer. It's not as if I could ever have a say in the first place. I just hope he just proves effective to our cause.
And there are also rumors about a specialist arriving in Kalkyou as well. Perhaps this "expert" will be helpful as well.

Ah, that cat is still here, watching me. Almost acting as though he knows something..... How unbelievable, he's simply a cat. Yet something about him unerves me. Perhaps I do need to get rid of him soon.... |

So, on top of all those strange absences, there’s the possibility of an actual threat as well. Vampire? Well I’m not really so sure on how much to believe on that. However I do know that certain mental and physical diseases exist within humans. Perhaps some are even strong enough to evoke an unusual, even somewhat mythical, desire in one.
Or there’s always the possibility that it’s simply an injured animal. Most don’t usually attack humans, but an injured one has the possibility and even likelihood of wandering into human territory and attacking any that get to close.
There are a number of possibilities. The important thing to remember is the fact that there is a real threat. One to be aware of. Human, legend, or animal; it’s still a danger to take seriously. We’ve been instructed to warn the public and that is what I am doing.
Well, now that that’s clear, I can move on. There’s a lot of talk on what to do about this mysterious threat and several groups, including my own, have been asked to investigate. I’ve tried to do my research but until I know more about the actual attacks themselves, there’s only so much I can do.
If anyone knows anything about this threat or any of the attacks, please let me know. Until this is dealt with all other projects and assignments have been postponed or cancelled.
Misato, I could definitely use that girl’s night out fairly soon… |

Well isn't this just wonderful?! Not only does it seem like half the town has just up and left without a trace, but my team is starting to have the same idea. They claim this "mysterious disappearance thing is just too freaky for them, and nothing is worth this!" How irresponsible!!!! They were sent here to do a job! They need to stay with it!
If they do end up leaving, I'll be left with what could hardly be considered a "team" and will be forced to search for a different "job". At least until we get more people involved. I was asked if I would like to leave as well, but I'm not giving up and running off, not after coming this far!
That cat is still here. I left the window open thinking he would run out while I was gone, but he was sitting on the bed when I got home. No one seems to know anything about him. I even asked around and no one has ever seen him. Well I can't just throw him out.
*sigh*....I guess I'll keep him for now. At least until I can find out something about him. It actually isn't that bad having him around. He's not noisy or troublesome like most "houseguests". Who knows maybe I'll end up keeping him completely....

Alright, I think I need to go out more. I know I've been working to hard now. It must be one of those nights. Because there is no way that a cat can talk. It must be from all that stress with my colleagues.
I finally got that break I've been needing, thanks to Riza. It was long overdue. On my way home, however, I heard something and followed it to find a cat laying in the middle of the street. If there's one thing I can't turn away it's a feline, especially when he looked so hungry and lost. I was never really planning on keeping him, but now there's no way he's staying.
I'm not an expert on animals but I've never seen anything quite like him. What seemed like an ordinary little white cat, is anything but! What's with that strange mark on his head? I'm not aware of any breesd or species like that. How very unusual. It almost appears to be in the shape of a crescent moon. Of course, my eyes and the light are probably just distorting my vision to make it appear that way. Since I did find him in the moonlight.
I almost swear that cat tried to say thank you. Now I know I just need to get some sleep. That didn't just happen. There's no possible way that a cat could ever talk!
I wonder what to name him. I'm not keeping him, but I can't keep calling him "Cat." Maybe I'll think of something in the morning, after I've had plenty of sleep. He can stay here for a few days, at least until I find out where he belongs. If he even has a home. He looks so lost and lonely... No, I can't keep him, that would only be more trouble. Right now he's sitting here. It's like he's watching me, very intently. How ridiculus. He's probably just waiting to see if I'll feed him again.
Why is there white fur on the keyboard? Never mind, I don't want to find out... |

Men. They always seem to have the answers to everything, don't they? Especially when they're led by a woman, who in in their eyes are simplistic fools that have no place in the field.
How pathetic! I don't have to remind them I was the one given the opporunity to study here. Why point out their childish behavior? Jealousy is such an ugly concept. By not responding to their petty complaints, I'm only proving how wrong and stupid they are.
In case you didn't already know, I'm Ritsuko Akagi, the leader and organization behind this pathetic little research team. I was the one given the opportunity to study here; they're just simple assistants. Not matter how much they complain, that's all they are.
All this extra work has been worth it, even if I have to deal with those idiots. I think I'll do something I haven't done for a while. I'm going out for little alone time. I'm not going to step foot into those shabby shacks those guys live for, I'll find something better. After working with that group, I need a good strong drink. |
